Overview
This Privacy & Security Statement applies to
the entire group of Web Site(s) owned, operated,
licensed, or controlled by LANI and its family
of companies. For purposes stated herein, LANI
shall include, but not be limited to, Loan
Administration Network, Inc., LANI, LANI.COM and
any other affiliated companies (“LANI”).
This Privacy & Security Statement is subject to and
conditioned upon full compliance with LANI's
Terms and Conditions of Use.
LANI strives to achieve the highest standards of
integrity for every online user and is committed to
protecting the privacy of our users. We will use
our best efforts to ensure the information you submit
to us remains private and is used only for the
purposes as set forth herein. This privacy and
security statement describes how we handle information
we obtain from you and learn about you when you visit
our Web Site.
Privacy &
Security Commitment Changes
If we decide to change our privacy and security
statement, we will post those changes here so you will
always know what information we gather, how we might
use that information, and whether we will disclose it
to anyone. We ask that our visitors periodically review
this page to ensure familiarity with the most current
version of our privacy and security statement.
Thank you for using LANI.
What Information does
LANI collect?
Registration: When you register for a free online
account to receive services, such as creating your
online profile, email, etc., LANI requires that you
supply specific information about you, for example your
name, address, email address, password, etc. We also
require you give us permission to send information to
you, along with your permission to post your online
profile for view by the public. In some instances when
you use a service, enter a contest, purchase a product,
etc., more specific information may be needed such as
credit card number, type of computer, etc.
Profile: Since LANI is a career site, we give you
the option of adding your profile into our database.
There are two ways of storing your profile:
1. Private (Not viewable by prospective employers) -
Not allowing your profile to be viewed by prospective
employers means you want a LANI staffing
representative to work with you on your behalf to
contact potential employers about you since potential
employers will not have access to your profile through
our database product.
2. Public (Viewable by prospective employers) - All
employers and recruiters who pay for access to our
database product will have access to your profile.
LANI allows you the ability to change or correct
your personal information at any time. To do so,
simply log into your LANI account, go to your profile,
and you will find options for editing the information
you have submitted.
Sweepstakes and Contests: From time to time, we may
request information from you in connection with
sweepstakes and contests we offer on our Web Site.
Participation in these sweepstakes or contests is
completely voluntary and you have a choice whether or
not to disclose this information. Information
requested may include contact information and
demographic information. Contact information will be
used to notify the winners and award prizes.
Anonymous Information: In general, we gather
information about our users collectively (for example,
areas users visit most frequently, the services users
access the most, etc.). We only use this data
anonymously and in the aggregate. This information
helps us determine what is most beneficial for our
users and how we can continually create a better
overall experience for our users. This anonymous
information may be used by us or shared with third
parties, but only in the aggregate. This information
does not personally identify you but may be helpful
for improving the services we offer to our users.
Generally, this information is collected through
“traffic data” and may entail the use of “cookies,”
“IP addresses,” or other numeric codes used to identify
a user’s computer.
Cookies: At certain points in your visit to our Web
Site, our server may send a “cookie” file to your
computer. A cookie is a file your Web browser places
on your computer’s hard drive. We use cookies for
remembering user names and passwords and preferences,
tracking click streams, load balancing, etc. You have
the option of setting your browser to notify you when
you receive a cookie, giving you the opportunity to
decide whether to accept it. Users who do not accept
cookies from our Web Site may hinder performance and
may not allow you to access many areas of LANI’s
group of Web Sites.
IP Addresses: We may collect other non-personal
information during your visit, such as type of browser,
operating system, domain name, or IP address. An IP
address is a number that is automatically assigned to
your computer whenever you enter the Internet. Web
servers automatically identify your computer by its IP
address. When you visit pages on our Web Site, our
servers log your IP address for systems administration
and troubleshooting purposes. We do not link IP
addresses to any personally identifiable information.
Credit Card Information: If you use a credit card to
pay for LANI’s services, we will store your credit
card information and will continue to charge your
account for the length of time you use those services
until you cancel. If you give us credit card information
to be used one time only to fulfill one order, we will
not store your credit card information.
Children: We do not specifically collect information on
children and we ask that minors not submit any personal
information to us. If you are a minor, you should use
this service in conjunction with a parent or guardian.
If you are concerned about your child's use of this site,
we encourage you to use Web filtering technology in order
to supervise your child's access to the site.
How does LANI use
the information it collects?
Profile: We will use this information to search for job
opportunities that match your skills and qualifications
and your preferences. In addition, we may contact your
references and referrals and may use the referral
information for purposes of paying referral fees under
LANI’s referral bonus program. We may also view the
information in your profile and provide feedback to you
such as job classification, content, etc. as a means of
assisting you and keeping your profile professional and
current.
Communication: We may use this information to inform you
of additional products and services offered by LANI
which could be of interest to you. We may also send other
information to you such as job opportunities, announcements,
industry information, upcoming events, your opinion of our
Web Site, etc., in an effort to deliver to you the best
possible experience and service.
Statistical Analysis: We may perform an analysis of user
behavior in aggregate form in order to measure interest in
areas of our Web Site (for product development purposes).
Banner Advertising: We may use the statistical information
we collect in aggregate form to inform advertisers as to
how many users have seen or “clicked” on their advertising
banners. We may also use demographic information we collect
to allow advertising banners on our Web Site to be targeted
to the readers for whom they are most pertinent. This means
users see advertising that is most likely to interest them,
and advertisers send their messages to users who are most
likely to be receptive to that information.
When does LANI share
the information it collects?
Within the LANI Family: We use and share your personal
information within the LANI family of companies for a
variety of reasons, including: (a) to protect you by
identifying you in order to prevent unauthorized persons
from accessing your information; (b) to provide superior
service by using the information to respond quickly and
efficiently to your needs; (c) to tell you about new or
enhanced services that could be of value to you; and (d)
to improve and develop our products and services to meet
your needs.
With Outside Companies or Parties: Except as described in
this privacy and security statement, we do not disclose
information about your individual visits to LANI, or
personal information you provide, such as your name, address,
email address, telephone number, credit card number, to any
outside parties, except when we believe it is required by
law or to protect LANI, our users or others. We may,
however, record and share aggregated information with our
partners. In addition, if you input your information on a
co-branded registration page, such as that of a LANI
and partner company-sponsored contest, then your information
becomes the property of both LANI and the partner
co-sponsoring the contest. In that instance, the use of your
personal information by our partner company is subject to
the privacy policy of that company and LANI is not
responsible for their use of your personal information.
We often employ other companies and individuals to perform
functions on our behalf. Examples may include hosting our
web servers, analyzing data, providing marketing assistance
and research, processing credit card payments, and providing
customer service. These other companies and individuals will
have access to your personal information as necessary to
perform their functions, but they may not share that
information with any third party.
We do not share customer information with outside companies
for the purpose of marketing products or services of those
companies, unless you have been given the opportunity in
advance to decline this option.
Feedback: LANI has provided you with an area on the
site where you can submit feedback at feedback@lani.com.
Any feedback submitted through this area becomes the
property of LANI. We may use this feedback for marketing
purposes and to contact you for further feedback on the site.
How do I opt-out of
receiving information from companies outside the LANI
family of companies?
Opting-Out: We do not share information with outside
companies for the purpose of selling their products and
services to you without giving you the opportunity in advance
to decline this option (that is, to “opt out” of this type of
sharing). As permitted by law, we arrange programs with
outside service providers to offer you additional benefits or
other conveniences. In these cases, unless you exercise your
choice to opt out of this type of sharing, we may disclose
limited information with outside companies with which we have
joint marketing agreements. LANI provides you with the
opportunity to change your security preferences at any time.
If you choose to receive these types of communications at the
time of registration and later decide you no longer want to
receive them, simply log into your LANI account and edit your
security preferences.
Cancellations: Upon your request, LANI will remove you
and your personal information from our database, thereby
canceling your registration. You may remove your profile from
our searchable database at any time by sending an e-mail
request to PleaseRemoveMe@lani.com.
Is LANI committed to
protect the security of the information it collects?
Data Security: LANI is committed to preventing others
from unauthorized access to your information. To prevent
unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the
appropriate use of information, LANI has put in place
appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures
to protect the information we collect online, including SSL
security for credit card submissions.
Orders Online: When placing an order online by credit card,
your personal details and credit card information are scrambled
using SSL encryption technology before being sent over the
Internet. Although we cannot guarantee encryption or the privacy
of your personal details and credit card information, SSL makes
it very difficult for your information to be stolen or
intercepted while being transferred. Our credit card
transactions are maintained by Verisign (http://www.verisign.com).
All information sent to Verisign is encrypted, which protects it
against disclosure to third parties. When we receive your order,
it is kept encrypted until Verisign is ready to process it. For
further information about Verisign's privacy and security
practices, please click here http://corporate.verisign.com/about/legalnotice.html.
Database: We use our best efforts to grant access to our database
only to paying employers, recruiters, hiring managers, and human
resource professionals, but we cannot guarantee other parties will
not, without our consent, gain access to this database. Those who
have paid for access to the database, and other parties who have
otherwise gained access to our database, may have retained a copy
of your profile in their own files or databases. We are not
responsible for the retention, use, or privacy of profiles in
these instances, or for the use or privacy of profiles by any such
parties while profiles are in our database.
Third Party Links: Our site may contain links to other Internet
sites. We encourage all of our partners, contributors and third
parties to implement policies and practices respecting the privacy
of our users. However, LANI is not responsible for the privacy
practices or the content of such web sites. This privacy and
security statement applies solely to information collected when
you visit our Web Site. We encourage all our users to read the
privacy and security statements of each and every web site they
visit. |
